Lowe’s began in 1921 as a hardware and building store in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. In 1940, Jim Lowe bought the hardware store. In 1949, Lowe’s opened its second store in Sparta, North Carolina.

In 1979, Lowe’s began trading on the New York Stock Exchange. In 2007, it became an international company with stores in Canada. In 2015, they expanded to India.

What Products Are in The Allen + Roth Planters Collection?

We looked on the Lowe’s website for Allen + Roth planters and found 285 planter products. They have pots, planters, hanging planters, deck boxes, saucers, stands, caddies and carts.

People love Allen + Roth planters because they offer on-trend colors and patterns that complement each other. Their line of planters coordinates beautifully. You can stick to a certain color and find different planter styles, shapes and sizes. Or you can stick to a planter style – like modern – and find different colors and sizes in that style.

If you have a small space, like a balcony or indoor garden, the Allen + Roth line of planters can be coordinated into small, showy container gardens. Experts say the first step to a beautiful container garden is to pick the perfect pot – and the Allen + Roth line of planters allows you to pick several and they’ll all coordinate.

Allen + Roth planters come in ceramic, resin, composite, fiberglass, plastic, metal, clay, stone, wicker, fabric, and wood. The widest range of planters offered are made of ceramic and resin.

Allen + Roth’s planters come in S, M, L and XL sizes. Planter styles are low bowl, traditional round, square and rectangular. They offer urns, deck boxes, hanging baskets, planters on stands and a wall planter

Some planters are specified as indoor ones, but the majority are indoor/outdoor. Many planters come with saucers attached but some have matching, or coordinating, saucers. All have drain holes for plant health.

Ceramic planters are round and come in vibrant colors, some are glazed and some natural. They come in a wide variety of patterns, colors, and sizes. Some planters in Allen + Roth’s ceramic line have simple macrame hangers.

Ceramic planters are a traditional, durable choice. Some can last for decades. They won’t blow over on a windy day, and they weather naturally. Ceramic planters coordinate well with wood and stone.

Many experts say that ceramic planters will crack when left outside in freezing conditions. Terra cotta pots freeze because they are porous and soak in water. The water freezes and expands. Glazed ceramic pots have all that porosity sealed over. Allen + Roth offers high fired, glazed planters that are “frost-resistant” (and the reviewers say they actually are).

Allen + Roth lightweight resin planters come in glossy, vibrant, or neutral colors. Resin planters are round, square, and rectangular. Resin can be molded so some come in detailed patterns. Some planters have a modern style in black or grey. The durable, heavy-duty resin comes with a UV inhibitor. Resin is very weather-resistant and a good choice if you don’t want to lug around heavy ceramic pots.

Most of the Allen + Roth resin planters have drain holes, but some have easy knock out holes. The holes do not require drilling. The resin pot line does not have attached saucers, but most have matching saucers available.

Resin planters also come as hanging baskets or window boxes. One resin planter is patterned like cement and another has a carved wood look – all in low-care resin. Many of the poly-resin planters are made from recycled products.

The Allen + Roth fiberglass planter line has many urn-style choices. Hand crafted and painted; these are perfect for either side of the front door. Add a small bush like a Topiary or boxwood. The tall, attention-grabbing fiberglass planters are durable and lightweight. Allen + Roth offers fiberglass planters in several styles from showy to minimalist.

Some planters come with stands so you can get your plants off the carpet. The style is modern and minimal. Reviewers liked the stands because they were sturdy.

Allen + Roth also offers several natural-looking wicker baskets to set planters in. They have PE liners to protect against leakage and handles for moving. The poly-wicker is hand-woven in Vietnam.

What Size & Weight Are Allen + Roth Planters?

Allen + Roth planters range in size from 4 inches up to 20 inches in diameter. Their window boxes measure 22 inches W x 8 inches H x 8 inches D.

Planter weight varies from poly-wicker baskets weighing less than a pound, up to large ceramic planters weighing up to 40 pounds.

Do Allen + Roth Planters Come With a Warranty?
